Current Volunteer Opportunities at
Gilda's Club Greater Toronto
Camp in the City Volunteer Assistants:
Help make a difference in the lives of children and teens touched by cancer by providing support during one of 3 weeks of Camp in the City, held during the month of July. Volunteer Camp Assistants will act as buddies to children aged 4 - 12 while they attend this day camp, assisting with activities and attending outings throughout the city. Volunteers interested are asked to commit to the whole week of one or more: July 8-12 (for ages 4 - 7); July 15-19 (for ages 8 - 12); July 22-26 (for ages 4 - 12).
Qualifications:
- Must like kids and enjoy working with them.
- Experience in childcare or camp leadership an asset.
- Proven effective communication skills with children and youth.
- Proven ability to sustain a high level of energy.
Sign Language Interpreters
Help our hearing-impaired members increase their participation in GCGT lectures and workshop. Date and time for the interpretation service is dependent on member need and volunteer availability. Knowledge of American Sign Language preferred.
