This Year Camp is Coming to YOU!
July 19 – 23rd
Camp in the City is a unique camp experience for children ages 4-12 years, who have an immediate family member living with cancer, as well as for bereaved children who have lost a family member from cancer. Continuing to keep healthy and safety in mind during the pandemic, this year we have changed the Camp in the City experience from in house, to in home virtually. Camp in the City will be created and delivered to your front door as ‘camp in a bag’!
All camp activities will provide psychosocial support designed to foster age-appropriate education about cancer, grief, healthy coping strategies and emotional expression. Each day of the week Gilda’s Club will host a virtual children session to allow all campers to connect with one another and share their experiences on how the activities went and what was meaningful for them. Virtual sessions will take place daily from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.
After your camp bag is delivered to your home, we ask that you talk to your children about this exciting and unique camp experience and place the bag in a safe place until the week of July 19th. Inside camp in a bag, we will include a camper handbook, with a daily agenda and activity breakdown with instructions for the children to complete each activity individually or along with your family.
