Uncertainty is a part of life and is especially common for people facing a serious illness. A diagnosis of cancer brings many changes such as physical changes, emotional changes, and spiritual changes. This workshop will help you to better understand how to cope with the uncertainty of the future. This workshop was developed by Cancer Support Community and is being presented by Christine Speck, RSW.
Presenter: Christine Speck MSW, RSW
Christine is a Registered Social Worker with 11 years of experience supporting people impacted by critical illness or loss. She completed a Masters in Social Work from New York University and is a Zelda Foster fellow with advanced training in palliative and end-of-life care. Chris spent 5 years as a Hospice Social Worker followed by 6 years at Gilda’s Club Westchester where she held a variety of clinical and leadership roles. She is an experienced clinical supervisor and MSW mentor and has co-taught Grief Loss and Bereavement at the NYU Silver School of Social Work. Chris currently oversees membership at Gilda’s Toronto.
