Stretch, Tone and Energize

Drawing on various modalities from Pilates, to Yoga and Chi-Kung this class will give you a challenging workout that will not only leave your body feeling toned and stretched but your mind feeling relaxed and energized. Research has suggested that individuals with cancer who engaged in physical activity have shown an improvement in sleep, appetite, reduction and stress and can ease side effects such as nausea, pain and fatigue. Most importantly can improve your quality of life. This class is open to individuals living with cancer their caregivers. As well as individuals whose loved one has died from cancer.
- A mat (or carpet)
- A tennis ball (or small soft ball)
- A stretch band (or towel)

Priscilla Platt is a certified Pilates instructor who has also spent most of her life engaging in a wide variety of exercise modalities. She is a strong believer in the benefits of exercise both for the body and the mind and brings her enthusiasm and energy to bear on the classes she provides. A devoted volunteer at Gilda’s since 2016, her classes are well-attended and full of fun.

We recommend joining the program five minutes early, where you will be directed to a waiting room. The host will add you to the program at the official start time. Once the program has started, the room will be locked 5 minutes after the scheduled start time to ensure security. No will be allowed to enter after this time.
